Permanent Residency in Ireland = allow to work in EU

Permanent Residency in Ireland = allow to work in EU?
Hi, I have the legal right to live and work in Ireland under a stamp 4 (is the immigration status, given to an individual with permission to reside in Ireland. It indicates that the person is entitled to work without a work permit). I am wondering does it means that I have the legal rights to work and live in other EU countries too? eg. UK The Blue Card - Ireland and UK are not subject to the proposal am not irish citizen

1 :
No, but the EU approved the EU Blue Card, soon, people who have permanent residency in a EU-member state can move to another EU member state
2 :
No. But if you were in other Euro country you could resort the "Schengen treaty" policy. Note: This only applys to citizens.
3 :
No. Your residency status in Ireland carries no rights whatsoever in the UK or anywhere else in Europe. If you want to move to the UK, you must apply for a work visa for the UK.

Social/health work in ireland

Social/health work in ireland?
Hi I'm an australian youth worker, working with people with disabilities over here. I plan on working in Ireland once I have my Irish passport next year. What orgainsations (professional or government) do I need to subscribe to before I can do similar work in Ireland? Also, can I organise stuff like police record checks and tax-file number from my end here in Australian? Are there any other hurdles or issues I need to know about? Cheers in advance!

HSE. You should also write to some of the charity organisations, like the Cheshire Foundation and the Brothers of Charity. Someone like you would be very useful to these organisations.

double yes
2 :
yea they will work in Ireland, you might need a power convertor. The PS3 will play an games from the world as they are not region locked as of yet, blue-ray you should be able to buy them in Ireland, as Europe is Region 2
3 :
Yeah, it will work fine. PS3 was designed with a built in AC converter to convert the power. For the power, the only thing you will need is either a AC adapter for the actual input, or you can buy a new PS3 power cord. All games for PS3 are region free - so even Japanese and US games will work. As for DVD's - Germany and Ireland are both Region 2, so they will work. For Blu-Ray, Ireland and Germany are both in Region B so they will also work. Regardless of that though - most BluRays are already region free too (even though the box has a region code on them) I own a couple of UK BluRays that i play on my US PS3.

3 :
Yes, but you have to tell the phone carrier where you'll be using it when you buy it.
4 :
It's supposed to, but you have to activate international services before you leave the U.S. You cannot active it from overseas using your phone. You'll have to call customer service from your hotel to get it activated if you wait until you get there. And then you'll have to make that call from a traditional land line and pay international charges at hotel rates.

provided you get an unlocked version of iPhone, which it will allow the iphone to work with any SIM Card

I don't see why it wouldn't...as long as the connections for the tv is the same....
2 :
Yes, but you need to be aware; Standard Definition output requires your TV be NTSC compatible, High Definition will work regardless. The US power standard is 110V. Some US PS3's have a universal power supply that will work in Europe, but you can only check by opening the case of your PS3. If it isnt universal, you will need a power adaptor as well. You wont be able to play PAL DVD's at all, or protected blu-ray movies.
3 :
In addition to the great answer of mark s I'll add that PS3 games are region free, but PS1/2 games are still region locked. I own US PS3 in Europe.
4 :
check out this site, they give you a playstation 3 FOR FREE!! i got mine last week and i'm luuuuvin' it!

If you hold an Indian passport you will need to apply for a Irish visa prior to travel to Dublin. U.K. visa are not recognized in the Republic of Ireland. If you would get caught without visa you would be subject to deportation to India as Indian passport holder.. http://foreignaffairs.gov.ie/home/index.aspx?id=8777 .. You need to fill the Irish visa application online and mail it together with your supporting documents to the Irish authorization which will be told to you in the online application process. http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Applying%20Online ..
2 :
No, a British visa won't cover you to visit the Republic of Ireland, you will need a separate visa

can a eu citizen and a non eu citizen get married, live and work in Ireland?

Other - Ireland - 3 Answers

Depends on where the non-Eu citizen is from, but I don't see why not. If there's work available for them, that is.
2 :
Yes you can. Both people can work and live in Ireland or any other EU country. There was a big case settled in the European court of Justice in Late 2009. There will be registration process to be completed and maybe an interview if they believe it is a marriage of convenience.
3 :
You can, but it won't be easy: INIS (the Irish Naturalisation & Immigration Service) has an entire sub-division dedicated to problem of non-EU citizens marrying Irish citizens (or other EU citizens) just to to live in Ireland. Basically, they would have to be convinced that the marriage is for real. (Also, contrary to popular opinion, just being from another EU country doesn't give you an *automatic* right to enter Ireland either. There are limitations. For example, if the Gardai believe you to be a threat to public safety, national security, or are, in some other way, an undesirable person, you can be refused entry. Also, if you stay longer than 3 months without engaging in some form of economic activity, or without being able to prove you otherwise would not be a burden on the State, you can be ejected too).

social work in ireland

social work in ireland?
I have no intention of moving to Ireland in the next 5 years, but sometime after that is a huge possibility for me. I understand that Ireland is struggling at the moment and that there is a significant lack of jobs available. However, I was wondering if anyone knew about job opportunities in Social Work? I will be getting my Master's Degree in Social Work and hope to work with mental health or specialize in children and families. How strong is the need for Social Workers in Ireland?

Social workers get paid a lot, especially if they work on Sundays. However, it's a very popular course and jobs will always be given to Europeans first. Ireland doesn't really need Social Workers from the Americas, Australia etc. You might find it hard to get a job.
2 :
AS you are not moving for over five years then its not a problem. Lots of jobs in ten years time. Booming economy and maases of mental health issues. You can pick and choose.

yes it is but you would need a work visa
2 :
You would need to start with applying for a work/residence visa. See 2nd site below to research this. See 1st site or a book on living and working in Ireland. 3rd website is a Yahho group for Ireland...so you may submit questions and communicate with people living in Ireland.
3 :
yes it is but we want our jobs for ourselves thanks very much
4 :
I'm looking for the same thing...I think the whole work visa route would be difficult seeing as the employer has to prove that there is no one in the EU or Ireland that is capable of doing the job...either way...I hope we both find our way to Ireland....
5 :
Sure you can - but you'll always be The Yank.
6 :
I take exception to Orla's answer. Obviously, she holds something againist this guy, and she doesn't even know him! I never judge people on basis of where they're from, until I get to know them, so Orla must be a very bitter, jealous, and prejudiced soul. I am an American who is doing just that, thank you very much. Also, there is no need to give out to us Yanks, we are very kind (in general) to visiting Irish, in our country, it's just sad that the reverse is not always the case. Anyhow, I'm sure you are a very kind and decent young man, and there's many an Irish person who will comment on your good manners.
7 :
Hi The way work permits work in Ireland is that you must be hired by an employer while outside of Ireland. The employer applies for your work permit. Now it does not mean that you have to stay with that job. Your permit will be good for two years. Now you cannot go to Ireland and just look for work and apply its not allowed unless you have a work permit and the only way you will get one is like I said. Now if you are in some type of public service or it you can apply differently because you are part of a group of services that they need in ireland Go online and apply with Monster Ireland, Jobs.ie, there are a lot of sites for submitting your resume. Also look for jobs relating to students or young people working in ireland. Google it there are a lot of agencies. Medical Doctor Nurses Social Worker It people etc.......

Will my Tmobile G1 work in Ireland?
I just got the new Tmobile G1 and I got it unlocked but I have one question, How do I activate it? I used the tmobile sim card it provided me and I made a google account and I tried to sign in but it says "There is a problem communicating with the servers". Can someone please help me?

It sounds like you have two questions here, working in Ireland and just working at all. To use the T-Mobile SIM card, you need to actually have a working T-Mobile account with the G1 feature on it, first of all, and then to take it and roam internationally in Ireland you also need to make sure international roaming is turned on. If it's unlocked, you should not be using the T-Mobile SIM, because unlocking is only done to allow you to use a different provider's service. So if you're trying to use it with a provider in Ireland, it's the Irish SIM you want in the phone.
